Welcome to Expressions.

Introduction
Organised by this year's Photography students, the work of the six photographers featured here bears witness to the world within which they live.
While being diverse, there is space here for personal interpretation and no one point of view has precedence over another.
This exhibition is being held to highlight and celebrate the ongoing contribution and lasting legacy Sallynoggin College has made since the establishment of the Photography Course there 20 years ago. Founded in 1989 by Joe Sterling, the course has been structured by him to deliver a comprehensive high quality technical and creative grounding in all aspects of photographic work.
Joe studied Photography in Newport University in South Wales and has recently completed an MFA in Documentary Photography. Students are also exposed to the practical aspects of the photographic industry by Christine Redmond, who has assisted and advised students in the organising and curating of this exhibition which is an intrinsic part of their course.
Christine also promotes and encourages the creativity in the students by exploring the nature of photography, its history and importance as a vital part of visual culture. The ongoing success of this course can be evidenced by the number of students who have aspired to and attained critical acclaim both here and abroad. Graduating from the Photography Course in Sallynoggin College has provided a very effective springboard to further education and success by arming students with practical and creative skills, confidence and self awareness.
