Diarmait Grogan
Personal Myths
There is an element of lyrical storytelling in Diarmait Grogans series of black and white images.
According to Grogan 'these photographs represent an attempt to engage meaningfully with the world around me as well as with the people whom I encounter in my daily life'.
He also refers to the ambiguity of meaning that is inherent not only in the photograph but in all forms of communication.
This is an invitation from Grogan for the viewer to engage with his 'private and familiar world' while connecting with their own experiences. Having studied photography in Sallynoggin College he has recently completed a degree in IADT.
Diarmait is exhibiting this work in Derby Museum and Art Gallery in March 2009 as part of Format '09 International Photography Festival.
