One and two year courses lead to Certificate and Diploma awards in a range of areas, preparing students for employment, as well as offering FETAC progression routes to Certificate and Degree programmes at third level. END OF YEAR EVENTS 2010
As the academic year ends in Sallynoggin College of Further Education, students will again this year have the opportunity to display a wide range of skills and talents, at our end of year student showcase events - Art, Craft, Design and Photography Exhibition, the National Student Floristry Competition, Fashion Design Show and Dance Performance.
Students of Art, Craft, Design and Photography will exhibit their work on Tuesday May 4th in Main Concourse, County Hall Dun Laoghaire. The exhibition will be officially opened at 6.30pm by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Mary Hanafin TD, and will run until Friday May 7th.
The annual National Student Floristry Competition will take place in the College on Monday, May 17th. This competition provides an opportunity for Floristry students to showcase their design skills and talents in a national student forum and will consist of two categories - one for current full-time students and one for those who already hold a FETAC Level 5 in Floristry.
The Competition will take place in the College from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, with adjudication by a nationally-known Floristry Judge. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place in each category and the winners will be announced at 7.00pm. Family, friends and well-wishers are all welcome to come along 7.00pm to support their budding florists and to view the wonderful display of completed pieces on show.
Fashion Design Showcase - this year, Fashion Design students will present their end of year collections on Tuesday May 25th in the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire. Tickets are available from the Pavilion Theatre, box office open daily from 10am to 6pm.
The Sallynoggin College Dance Performance will take place in the Pavilion Theatre Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday May 26th at 8pm. Tickets are available from the box office. The exhibition will showcase student talent and skills in a range of dance genres - classical ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary and musical theatre.
The staff of Sallynoggin College of Further Education would like to congratulate all the students involved and wish them all the best in their future careers.
